Mrs Mkhize's creche
This is the ground that's already been cleared, ready
for the building of a new creche to replace the current single
room and outside toilet that is Mbalenhle Creche
in Embo.
Over 30 children come to the creche each school day, squeezing
into one spotlessly clean room under the watchful eyes of Mrs
Mkhize, Patience and other child care workers. There are precious
few toys, books or crayons, but at least the children are safe
and warm ... until one of them needs the toilet, a hazardous
long-drop in a rickety tin shack outside.
 Erecting
new and much larger premises for the creche, with indoor plumbing,
is our next project, for which we need funding.
Apart from the actual building,
funds are also needed for playground equipment, educational
